Defenseman Clinics (Dman)
Defensemen, outside of goal scorers, are the most valuable players in the game. They play a uniquely challenging position and MUST be able to execute many different skills at the same moment. Our D-skills fundamentals will train you to become a great Defenseman! Training will include forward/backward skating, (incl. pivots w/o crossovers), puck skills, correct positioning, gap control, defending the net, offensive zone play, rushing the puck, defensive hockey sense, and, partner communication. Players will understand terms like; stick on puck, heels to net, head on swivel, and one pass & out. If you want to master the skills you need to be a defenseman that plays all the time - get to this clinic!
If you can't skate - you CAN'T PLAY in today's ice hockey. Skating is the 1st skill that coaches look for in a player.
Ice Barn's Excellence in Power Skating program is designed to teach, develop & reinforce proper skating technique to provide a strong foundation and to accelerate growth as a hockey player. These 45-minute clinics focus on advanced edge work, crossovers, transitions, & acceleration. Coach Bozoian's unique training will take you to the next level.
Our power skating clinic is designed to improve each hockey player’s quickness, balance, speed, agility. Players will develop a more explosive and lengthened stride, learn how to use their edges to generate speed, develop efficient start and stop techniques, learn how to effectively pivot and make transitions, develop dynamic inside and outside edge control.
Skating is by far the most essential skill of ice hockey. If you want to play on the top line - you better be able to skate!
Power Skating & Stick Skills 8U-ALL
Coach Nick will work with each goaltender to develop an individualized goalie program with specialized goals.

The proper techniques of stretching are taught to increase the goaltenders flexibility and to prevent injury.

Girls Clinics are now available at Ice Barn Indy!
While girls are always welcome to attend the other skating and skills sessions offered by Ice Barn, we have created a "Girls Only" clinic, where girls can learn, train, and develop. The girls will have professional instructors put them through skating, puckhandling, and shooting drills, at a fast pace. The "Girls Only" clinics are designed for girls to come work hard, and learn, in the comfort and presence of other young female hockey players, looking for quality instruction.
